Armoured Cable LSZH

We supply a comprehensive range of Low Smoke Zero Halogen (LSZH) cables for use in applications where smoke emission and toxic fumes could pose a risk to human health and essential equipment in the event of a fire. Unlike PVC cables and those made of other compounds which produce vast amounts of dense black smoke, toxic fumes and acid gas when exposed to fire, LSZH cables produce very low levels of smoke and toxic fume and no acid gases.

They are therefore often specified indoors, especially in public areas, and in other hazardous environments and poorly ventilated areas. This includes cars, aircraft, railway carriages and ships. LSZH sheathed cables are commonly used across tunnels and underground rail networks.

Low Smoke Zero Halogen cables are designed to emit less toxic and corrosive gas during combustion and are ideal for areas of low ventilation. Our Low Smoke Zero Halogen Cabling Range are manufactured to a very high standard and meet all the industry standards

CONSTRUCTION OF THE CABLE
Name Description Material
Conductors Current carrying component of the cable. Plain, stranded, compacted copper as per IEC: 60228 Aluminium, stranded, compacted conductors
INSULATION The rated voltage level of the cable depends on the dielectric strength and thickness of the insulation. Cross-linked polyethylene (XLPE) Type GP8 as per BS 7655
FILLERS For providing circular shape to the cable, non-hygroscopic compatible fillers (wherever necessary) are included between laid up cores.
BEDDING: Extruded bedding serves as a bedding for the armour and as a protection for the laid-up cores. LSZH
ARMOUR: Armour provides mechanical protection to the cable. It also serves as an Earth Continuity Conductor (ECC). One layer of round wire is applied helically over the bedding. 1. Galvanised round steel wire (GSWA) – FOR MULTICORE CABLE 2. Aluminium round wire armour (AWA) – FOR SINGLE CORE.
OVERSHEATH – FINISH LSZH and also Complies with acid gas emission requirements of IEC 60754 Part 1 & Part 2 and also complies with Category C of IEC 60332 – 3.
